Toonly: How do I add text to my project?

Learn how to add and customize text in Toonly, including available text styles, how to drag text onto the canvas, and current limitations, such as no word wrap or text-to-speech support.

Available Text Styles

  • There are several text styles to choose from, including Slidy, Smooth, Marching, Joy, and Spread.

Add Text To Project

  1. To add text to your project, click on the text tab located on the left-hand side of the Toonly interface.

  2. Select the desired text style that you would like to include in the project and drag and drop it into the project area.

Customize Text

  • Based on the text you have selected, you will have various options by clicking on settings (gear icon)to configure the text to fit your needs.

Limitations

  • Toonly does not offer a text-to-speech option. Our other software, Talkia is designed for text-to-speech.

  • Toonly does not support word wrap or multiple-line text in a single text box at this time.

    • As a workaround, you can use multiple text boxes to insert multiple lines, or you can also type your text, save and upload it as an image.
