Toonly: Apply Text Underlay

Learn how to apply a text underlay in Toonly to improve text readability by adding a semi-transparent rectangle behind your text, and how to customize its opacity, color, and padding.

Underlay Features

  • Underlay's Opacity: Add a rectangle box underneath the text to make it more readable. You can make it more or less transparent.

  • Underlay's Color: Customize color using the color palette or color picker.

    • NOTES: To change the color, you will first need to change the underlay's opacity.

  • Underlay's Padding: Increase overlay padding.

  • Is RTL: Have the text appear right-to-left instead of the standard left-to-right.

Apply Text Underlay

  1. Drag the text into your workspace.

  2. Click on the text.

  3. Click on the gear icon to open Settings.

  4. Under the Underlay section, toggle the underlay’s opacity bar to the right, which will present the underlay’s color and padding options.

    • These options will allow you to put a semi-transparent rectangle beneath the text to make it more readable.
