A: Yes, for our purposes, the user owns the work product and content the user creates using our software.
We retain the rights to the software, and to the images, sounds, and other creative elements that we provide you for you to use in connection with the software, and those are licensed to you in accordance with the End User Agreement. The works that you create using these elements and our software are yours, as between you and us.
We do not re-use, distribute or commercialize your work product. The user is responsible for ensuring the user has all the necessary rights to the content the user creates or adds to the work product and that the user's work does not violate the rights of third parties.
Q: Where can I watch some tutorials on Toonly?
A: We have several videos ready for you on our tutorials page.
Q: What is Toonly’s Image Policy?
A: Toonly membership includes proprietary rights to designs, graphics and Toonly videos created using our software.
As long as you are a Toonly member, the images provided are royalty-free for you to use within the software, however, the pre-loaded components are not available for download or use outside of Toonly.
Q: Can we work on one project at the same time?
A: It is not advisable to use the software simultaneously to prevent saving errors.
Note: Please close Toonly prior to opening on another device to prevent sync/save errors.
Q: Can I upload my videos on a social media platform?
A: Yes. Exported Toonly videos can be uploaded to Instagram, Facebook and any other social media sites. Learn to export your Toonly project here.
Q: Is there a mobile or tablet app for Toonly?
A: Currently, there is no mobile or tablet app for Toonly.
We may consider a mobile or tablet app in the future, but as of the moment, Toonly is best designed to work with:
Windows 7 and higher
Mac OS X 10.10 and higher
Q: Can I customize my Toonly characters?
A: Absolutely! When you navigate to the characters' Animation Settings you will see the option to Change Colors. Learn more here.
Q: Can I upload video animations in Toonly?
A: It's important to note that Toonly is not a video editing tool. If you intend to add another video to your project, we suggest that you export your Toonly video first and use a third-party video editor to merge your videos.
Q: How can I export my project?
A: To export your completed content, go to the Export tab at the top left-hand side of the Toonly interface.
There you will be presented with several export options: Resolution, Quality, and Format. Learn more here.
Q: Do you have video templates we can use?
A: We encourage our users to create their own concepts for a more effective and unique video approach based on their personal tastes and needs. We also have sample videos on-site at https://www.toonly.com/. You can also check out our video tutorials to guide you in creating your own projects.
Q: Can I import a video into Toonly?
A: As of now, we do not support video importing into the software directly. As a workaround, you can use a separate video editing software like Windows Movie Maker to combine your exported project with another video. You can also convert the video clip into a GIF and insert it into the project as a moving image.
Q: Can I upload and animate custom characters or images?
A: As of now, we do not support character or image customization within the app. You can however upload your own images or characters to use for free. Please be advised that we do not support animation for custom-imported images beyond the basic panning and rotate movement animation.
In the meantime, we recommend uploading animated gifs that you've created/downloaded outside of Toonly. When added to your project, the gif frames will play together with your scene. Please use gif images that are less than 1MB in size.
Q: Can I download Toonly on multiple computers?
A: Yes! You can download Toonly on as many compatible devices as you like! All of your projects are stored in the Toonly cloud & linked to your individual account, so as long as you have your login information, there are no limits on how many devices you can use.
Note: Please close Toonly prior to opening on another device to prevent sync/save errors.
Q: Can I pay using a Debit Card?
A: Currently, we offer the option to purchase Toonly through a credit card.
You also can use a debit card; you can run the debit card as a credit. However, we can't guarantee that they will go through with debit cards as the final approval will be entirely up to your card-issuing bank. If debit card payments do not go through, please use a credit card.
