Voomly: How To Add Subtitles To Your Video

Accessing Subtitles Settings

  • Go to your video drive and select the video you want to add subtitles to.

  • Navigate to player settings on the left side of your screen.



Turn On Subtitles In The Control Settings



Adding Subtitles

  • On the right side of the screen, you can choose to auto-generate subtitles or add your own in the preferred language.


Add Auto-generating Subtitles

  1. Click on the autogenerate button located in the top right corner. The system takes a few minutes to generate subtitles.

    • Enable Subtitles

      • Toggle subtitles on to use.

    • Rename Subtitles 

      • Beside your autogenerated subtitles, you can click the 3 dots to rename subtitles.

    • Editing Subtitles

      • In the middle of the screen,  click on the pencil icon to make changes to auto-generated subtitles.

      • You can click the garbage can icon to delete the subtitles.

      • Once you have made your changes, click save subtitles. 




Add Custom Subtitles

  1. Click on the add new button located near the top right corner to add custom subtitles. You can select the language you prefer. 

  2. In the middle of the screen, click the pencil icon to add subtitles. 

  3. You can click on the copy content from button to help make adding subtitles a bit easier. 

  4. You can click on the time stamp to make changes to the time. 




Setting Default Subtitles

  • If you have more than one subtitle, you can select the default subtitles, by clicking on the 3 dots and selecting make default




Troubleshooting Subtitle Changes

  • Default Subtitles Is Not Changing

    1. Turn off the secondary subtitles temporarily and toggle on the subtitles you want as default. 

    2. Click save

    3. Check your video, the default one should appear. 

    4. Go back to your settings and turn on the secondary subtitles and save. 

    5. The correct default subtitles should appear correctly in your video. 




Customizing Subtitle Appearance

  • Change font, size, style, alignment, text color, and background color of subtitles at the bottom right side of your screen.
